Whether teaching English, Drama, History or Theory of Knowledge, Paul believes what makes lessons valuable is the enhancement of critical thinking. His educational philosophy has always been to identify a student’s strengths and use them to build up areas in need of improvement.
Paul has taught all high school grades and levels in a thirty-one year career.
His experience teaching essay writing helps students create more compelling arguments through close focus on audience, organization, precise word choice, relevant and forceful textual support and effective style.
Paul taught 15 years in the International Baccalaureate program at Bayview Secondary where he was instrumental in developing the Higher Level English and Theory of Knowledge curricula. He is an English Examiner for the IB. Paul relishes the fulfillment that comes from seeing student growth in confidence, skill and understanding.
